Bluewater Festival Art Competition
& Exhibition
THEME: LA PROMENADE
For the 2010 Bluewater Festival, we are once again holding our Bluewater Festival Art Competition. All entries will be presented in an exhibition at St Patricks College Callan Centre, plus be available for sale. The event will begin on Thursday evening with a Cocktail party, tickets $10, students free. Tickets available through the Chamber of Commerce office or can be purchased at the door (bookings advisable for this option – to allow for catering)
Opening Night & Cocktail Party 7pm Thursday 1st April 2010,
Exhibit Continues 9am – 3pm, Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th

How does the competition work?
Works of an Exhibition quality can be submitted in three main categories: Open 3D, Open 2D, Open Photo, plus there are also two youth categories: Senior: years 11 & 12, Junior: years 9 & 10
THEME: LA PROMENADE
Please submit artworks that reflect the Sandgate/Shorncliffe lifestyle, with a special focus on “La Promenade” which is interchangeable with ‘esplanade’ and simply means strolling along a public walkway. EG: Scenes of the waterfront, The Bluewater Festival (which is in it’s 16th year), the pier, historical imagery, etc.
We are currently seeking prize sponsorship and there will be a 1st Prize, Highly Commended and Commended awarded for outstanding artworks in each of the five category Groups. The Competition will be judged by 3 professional fine artists, there will also be a people’s choice award.
How to enter and Entry conditions:
List of Items / Entry Form: must be submitted by Monday 29th March, for items to be listed in the Exhibition Catalogue, PLUS a matching list of items must accompany the art at the time of delivery. Entries will not be accepted after this deadline!
Open Class $10 per item – limit of 4 entries, Student Class $5 per item – limit of 2 entries.
Payment can be attached to Entry Form, or can be paid upon delivery of art work.
Volunteers can have $10 off their entry fee!
