The Sandgate Bluewater Festival is a series of events held during the week leading up to the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race which leaves from Shorncliffe every Good Friday. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the famous yacht race and a record number of entries are expected to provide a spectacular sight for the thousands of onlookers who flock to the area to witness the start.
The 2008 Bluewater Festival is shaping up to be the best in its 11-year history and the main events on Easter Thursday evening and Good Friday are returning to their traditional home in Lower Moora Park after the BCC’s foreshore re-development required a temporary move to Upper Moora Park last Easter.

Bayfire Spectacular from 5:30pm in Lower Moora Park, Shorncliffe – markets, food stalls and rides plus live entertainment with the Bayside Divas, Peebo & Dagwood Magic Show, Phoenix Fire Tribe, Bluewater Fireworks and the award winning Fabulous Sounds of the 60’s Show featuring Darren J Ray & The Love Bugs hosted by 4BH’s Greg Newman.

The Bluewater Festival has organised a special dinner bar-b-q & bowls package for people enjoying the starting day of the week long activities which culminate in the Thursday night Bayfire Spectacular and Friday's Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht race.
FOOD & DRINKS - There are plenty of refreshments for you to purchase at the Club's rink-side bar, kid's meals are also available. The bar-b-q is a DIY cookery, so there is only one chief to blame - you!
