YOGA On The Beach
Start your Easter Friday with a yoga session on Shorncliffe beach, with the iconic Shorncliffe pier as the backdrop. All ages and abilities welcome!
The session are being organised by yoga teachers Cheng Teo & Lisa Johnson who have run two successful mass yoga classes at the Pier in 2011 and 2012.
Facilitated by a team of experienced local yoga instructors, yoga poses will be synchronised to create meaningful connections, and a visual display against the backdrop of Moreton Bay.
Join us with your family and friends, bring a mat, towel or picnic mat, water to participate in a fun and an interactive yoga class.
Assembly point will be in front of the Shorncliffe Pier (marked on map above) and participants are invited to contribute a donation which will be given to SANDBAG (Sandgate Community Centre).

The ‘Sunshine Express’ Trackless Train
The ‘Trackless Train’ will be running a continuous loop from 8.30am – 4.30pm, at this years Bluewater Festival over Easter.
STOP 1 – Will be at the picnic table area across from ‘The old Baptist Church, (now the Day Care Centre) on the corner of Cliff Street & Flinders Parade.
STOP 2 – Will be the grassed area around the corner from the Free Giant Bluewater Festival Kids Games in Moora Park.
Gold Coin donation to ride, with proceeds going to the Sandgate Community Centre.

Shorncliffe Pier Official Re-Opening @ Bluewater Festival 2016
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk will officially cut the ribbon to open the newly-renovated Shorncliffe Pier at 9.30am. Before everyone will have the chance to enjoy it for the first time, as it hosts the 2016 Bluewater Festival.
Facin’ The Crowd – Rock ‘N’ Roll
Facin’ the Crowd are fast becoming one of Brisbane’s premier Rock N Roll Dance bands & enjoying a jam session with them this Good Friday will guarantee to get your Easter off to a fantastic start. Influenced by the greats, and covering many artists including the Eagles and Elvis all four members have Rock N Roll running through their veins.

Start of the 68th Brisbane To Gladstone Yacht Race
Head to the shore line at the Bluewater Festival, or grab a spot on the newly re-opened Shorncliffe Pier for the 68th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. Entrants in 2016 will include the countries best Queensland based race boats, as well as interstate rivals.
Last year Queensland Racer ‘Black Jack’ took an impressive double winning both line honours and topping the timesheets on handicap to win the prestigious Courier Mail Cup, one of the oldest perpetual trophies in Australia that has been competed for on a continual basis.

Multihull Brisbane To Gladstone Race Start – Off Shorncliffe Pier
This year the Multihull Brisbane to Gladstone Race will again start with a bang as long time Sandgate resident Albie Jeays fire’s the official starting shot from a cannon at the end of the Pier!
For the first time in many years the Multihull race will start just off the end of the Shorncliffe Pier, so close, spectators on the pier will almost be able to jump aboard!
Peebo & Dagwood Clown Show
Be on the look out for everyone’s favourite clowns Peebo & Dagwood, they will be dropping into the festival to say Hi this Good Friday!
The Kangagang – Children’s Entertainment
Kangagang Children’s Show is guaranteed to put a smile on both the young, and young at heart faces! This colourful choreographed Aussie themed show is bursting with original songs and dance. Children of all ages will enjoy this fully interactive show on Good Friday this Easter, as they learn about Australia’s unique animals, and way of life through song and dance.
Easter Bunny Visit
It wouldn’t be the Bluewater Festival without a visit from the Easter Bunny this Easter. Everyone, booth young and old is welcome to say hi to our favourite visitor as the Easter Bunny hops through the festival from 12-2pm!
Upper Moora Park
Sandgate Fire Brigade
The Sandgate Fire Brigade will be visiting the Bluewater Festival this Good Friday, with their Fire Truck. Look out for them in Upper Moora Park.
Nik Phillips – Acoustic Rock
Talented acoustic artist Nik Phillips known for his great live shows, and impressive talent. Nik made a name for himself as the official Singer/Songwriter for the State of Origin song, & is currently the only independent artist to have three songs play listed with Triple M!

Soulmen Blues Brothers – Tribute Show
Jake & Elwood Blues hit the music trail once more at this year’s Bluewater Festival! Festival Goers will be shaking a tail feather, in one explosive high octane performance on main stage this Good Friday.
Complete with their nine piece backing band which includes Sister Blues – ‘The Soulmen Blues Brothers Tribute Show’ will be a fitting finale to a superb day of sunshine, yachts and the re-opening of the Shorncliffe Pier!
